Yoi no Dachi – Same as Heiko Dachi
Sanchin Dachi – 三戦立ち – Basic Stance

Zenkutsu Dachi – Forward stance with flexed front knee; 70% front foot; 30% back foot.
Hanzen Kutsu Dachi – Half forward stance

Kumite no Tachi – Fighting stance, feet only
Kumite no Kamae – Fighting stance with both hands up. Used when fighting.
Kihon no Kamae – Fighting stance, one stride between feet, hands up like kumite no kamae.
Morote no Kamae – Fighting stance with lead hand up. Other hand just under chin.

Kiba Dachi – Horseback stance
Musubi Dachi – Horseback stance
Kokutsu Dachi – Back stance, 70% back foot; 30% front foot
Neko Ashi Dachi – Cat stance, 80%^back foot, 20% front foot.
Kakeashi Dachi – Hooked stance.
Tsuruashi Dachi – Crane stance.
Heisoku Dachi – Feet together with instep touching.
Moro Ashi Dachi – Both feet pointed forward, 1 shoulder width apart, one foot apart; weight 50-50

Fudo Dachi – Feet shoulder width apart, toes pointed out
Soto Hachi Noji Dachi – Feet slightly wider than one shoulder width apart, toes pointed out (soto), no bent knees
Uchi Hachi Noji Dachi – Feet slightly wider than one shoulder width apart, toes pointed in (uchi), no bent knees; toes inside (uchi), pulling heels into heiko dachi. Done in mokuso katas
Shiko Dachi – Feet two shoulder widths apart, toes pointed out, knees bent. “sumo stance.”
