There are three times per year we all really look forward to which are: the Fall BBQ, the December Holiday Party and the New Year’s Party. Our December Holiday party is extra special as it does not involve any training at all, just great food, great company and coolers full of drinks.
One of the great perks about the World Oyama Karate San Francisco and San Mateo dojos is that we have two FANTASTIC chefs (both black belts and one is a Sensei)! I’m willing to bet we have the absolute best food you’ll ever find in a karate dojo in the entire USA, perhaps even the world.
The San Mateo Holiday party is usually the first weekend of December followed the next weekend by the San Francisco Holiday party. Unfortunately, we didn’t take an official picture at the San Francisco holiday party as the kids were all running around hitting each other with balloons while the adults were engaged in good conversation, many holding adult libations. Usually we just say OSU! in the dojo without any libations at all except for water.
Hopefully I’ll be able to update this post with more photos if I receive them from our members. I’d love to showcase the equally incredible food at the San Mateo party.
Our next fun event will be New Year’s Beach training followed by traditional Japanese New Year’s food (and sake) at the dojo.
